Join us for an ILC tour at Dobson Pipe Organ Builders in Lake City!

Dobson Pipe Organs has been creating beautiful pipe organs for installations around the world in Lake City, Iowa since 1974. The definition of a custom job-shop, Dobson really began focusing on Lean principles while in temporary facilities in the aftermath of a fire that destroyed their workshops in 2021. They have been able to implement some of those Lean and 5S concepts in their new workshop that opened last year.

During the tour, you’ll see an organization early in their Lean journey, but with an understanding of the basics, including a focus on the customer and respect for people. You’ll use our ILC Lean Learning Tour forms to capture ideas to take back to your organization and suggestions for Dobson for their continuous improvement journey.
