Bio
Mike O’Donnell is Director of CIRAS at Iowa State University, where he leads a team that works alongside Iowa manufacturers to solve problems, strengthen operations, and prepare for future growth. With a background in engineering and manufacturing leadership, Mike brings a practical and collaborative approach to helping companies adopt new technologies and build resilient teams.
He holds a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University and an MBA from Iowa State University. Prior to CIRAS, he held progressive roles in manufacturing, quality, and supply chain in the defense and small appliance industries. He has led the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program for more than a decade and has served as Director of CIRAS since 2023. He also serves on the board of the American Small Manufacturing Coalition.
