Machinery

The machinery industry consists of the production of industrial and general machinery. In Iowa this industry is mainly farm equipment and power tools.

There are 621 machinery industry employers in the state of Iowa, employing 36,018 people. The machinery industry contributes $3,225,000,000 to the Gross State Product, which is 16% of the manufacturing GSP. The distribution of employees by county is displayed below:
