What is industrial ventilation?

Industrial ventilation deals with the replacement of plant air with conditioned air to reduce the concentration of contaminants (dust, fumes, gases, microorganisms, vapors, etc.) or to modify the thermal condition of plant air (temperature, humidity, etc.).  The control of contaminants is typically referred to as indoor air quality (IAQ).
See in-depth information and related links. In depth information on this topic.

What are the benefits of industrial ventilation?

Implementing industrial ventilation can

  • improve employee comfort and productivity.
  • improve employee safety.
  • improve energy savings.
  • improve process control.

What can CIRAS do for my company?

As an Iowa manufacturer, CIRAS will provide one day of free service to help you assess your plant ventilation problems, provide education on the basics of ventilation, brainstorm potential solutions, and help link you to private resources to implement corrective actions.  CIRAS can also provide engineering assistance with the redesign of products to reduce contaminants in manufacturing.
