What are energy audits?

Energy audits are holistic surveys of the facility, performed to understand how energy is currently used and to identify areas of potential savings.  An energy audit consists of three main segments:

• understanding energy costs
• identifying potential savings
• reporting cost beneficial recommendations

What are the benefits of energy audits?

Energy efficiency audits can lead to

• lower energy expenses
• increased production reliability
• increased productivity
• increased comfort of building occupants
• reduced environmental impacts

What can CIRAS do for my company?

CIRAS partners with the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at Iowa State University to provide audits for qualifying small- and medium-size manufacturers.  CIRAS can link companies to other resources if they do not qualify for the IAC program.
