The Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) also has resources to support community and business development in Iowa. The Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) improves the quality of life in Iowa by enhancing the performance of industry through research, education and technology-based services. Assistance to companies is provided in partnership with Iowa's universities, community colleges and government agencies. Services are supported in part by the DoC/NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the DoD/DLA Procurement Technical Assistance Program, and the DoC/EDA University Center Program.
